Great Rhino-beast

The last addition to my Mordor army, the great rhino-beast creature is ready! For this conversion I used a rhinoceros of the "Schleich Toys" and some mordor orcs, which I bought second-hand from the local store.

The rhino

The driver of the beast is a combination of various models. The legs belong to a Celtic warrior,  the body belongs to a mordor orc, the spear is a metallic rod and the spearhead comes from a corsair of Umbar.

The "parts" for the driver model

The oval wooden base dimensions are 120 x 95 mm.

I used copper rods to support the howdah and glue and clips to hold them stable in place. The bases of the howdah are Renedra gaming bases 60 x 20mm.

I used green staff to make the three girths that hold the howdah.

Then it was the turn of the orcs. I needed nine orc archers but I had only four. So, I gave crossbows to two warriors with spears and slings and a stone to the rest three. The hands with the slings are from the plastic Dark age warriors of GB.

The howdah is made of balsa wood covered by plaster.

Everything fits OK.

Plaster and chains to secure the three parts of the howdah.

A month ago I visited Cáceres of Extremadura in Spain. The walled city is a UNESCO world heritage. Below you can see some photos of the main square of the old part of the city.

Happy birthday!!!!!

Dramatic katastases is five years old!

Unfortunately, this year was even less productive than the previous one! I tried to keep posting at least twice every month but then came July. It was the first month which passed with no post. From now on I hope better days will come for my blog. As far as I know I will not have so many obligations like before. Of course you never know!
The last period I have traveled a lot around Spain and I have plenty of photos of various interesting places and dishes! They will accompany my posts the following months!
   So, stay tuned!
