Bolt Action V3 Battle 2

We still try to learn the rules, so we decided to play again the same battle with more or less the same forces, DAK versus the 8th Army.

On the left you can see the 8th Army and on the right the DAK force, 750 points each.

This time we added a road on the table apart from the palm trees and the rocks.

I managed to finish the rocks. I used a brown wash and Vallejo Iraqi Sand to highlight them.

All infantry units of the 8th Army consisted of only riflemen. No SMGs or LMGs.

Just two guns, two mortars, two MMGs, two AT guns and a Matilda (not painted!).

The DAK force had less infantry units, no guns but an armoured car and a Panzer III.

Unfortunately for the DAK force, the armoured car SdKfz 222 was destroyed.

After a couple of hours we stopped. It was fun. Soon we will learn the rules and we will be able to finish a full, six-round game!

That's it for today! Stay tuned for more!

Bolt Action V3 Battle

Recently we played the first Bolt Action Version 3 battle. We played a DAK versus 8th Army game in odrer to learn the new rules. Though we didn't manage to finish the battle because of lack of time, we really enjoyed the game!

Each side had 1000pts. Three platoons and fifteen order dice for the British. Three platoons also for the Germans, but only eight order dice.

The three British platoons: rifle, heavy weapons and artillery. The three German platoons: rifle, heavy weapons and armoured.

Red Army flamethrowers and Wiesbaden

Flamethrowers are a very frightful weapon in real life. In Bolt Action players are also fearful of flamethrowers because hits from such weapons allow no cover saves. This means that units can be eliminated easily.

I have three flamethrower teams of two men each. All teams are Warlord Games models.

The three teams

Team A

Team B

Two of the models carrying the flamethrower are the same. I used green amoeba pattern camouflage and a shapka ushanka for the one, while brown amoeba pattern and a helmet for the other in order to make them look different.

Team C

Below you can see some photos of Wiesbaden. Wiesbaden is the capital of the German state of Hesse. It is located very close to Frankfurt. It is a very nice city.
